While the weather outside may not have been all too frightful, the holiday notes that resonated from inside the Lehighton Hi-Rise were indeed most delightful.

Members of the Lehighton Area Pool Pals, Lehighton Downtown Initiative, Main Street Steering Committee, and area Girl Scouts joined forces on Sunday to help brighten the spirits of Hi-Rise residents.

The organizations meshed together to sing several Christmas carols, such as “Frosty the Snowman,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” “Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer” and “Let it Snow.”

About a handful of Girl Scouts were even brave enough to sing verses of songs on their own, much to the delight of Mark Hoffman, chairman of the Lehighton Area Pool Pals.

Hoffman expressed his supreme satisfaction with the high level of representation at the Hi-Rise, which was conducted to support the town caroling that took place throughout the evening.

The program wrapped up with a brief singing of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and was accompanied by a rousing ovation from the Hi-Rise residents in attendance.
