Tamaqua woman faces assault, harassment charges
A Tamaqua woman faces assault and harassment charges after a Dec. 6 incident.
Tamaqua police received a report of a disturbance on Hunter Street. A witness told police that Kelly J. Knepper, 48, and the victim, were on the third floor of their household fighting, and that Knepper was attacking the victim.
The victim, who had visible bleeding injuries to his face, said that he and Knepper got into a verbal argument. Knepper then attacked him with her hands and mouth; scratching and biting him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.
When police attempted to talk to Knepper, she became irate, yelling and screaming.
When Knepper was told that she was going to be arrested, she became physically combative with police.
After a brief struggle, she was placed under arrest and transported back to the police station. Charges were filed.
