Muncy woman facing charges after Lansford domestic

Monica Lee Sanchez, 37, of Muncy, was arrested on Monday by Lansford police on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment, stemming from a domestic dispute.

Lansford police said they responded at 12:09 a.m. to the 300 block of East Abbott Street for what they labeled a “domestic between ex-girlfriends.”

Police said the victim told them Sanchez assaulted her and was smashing the interior of the house. Police said the victim had scratch marks on her neck and a bite mark on her right forearm.

A witness, Alyssa Schultz, told police she saw Sanchez attacking the victim. When Schultz tried to restrain Sanchez, she punched her in the face and stomped on her feet.

Police said they took Sanchez into custody, after which time the charges were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford.
