AARP Foundation seeks volunteer tax preparers for Tax-Aide Program

AARP Foundation has kicked off volunteer recruitment for its Tax-Aide program, the nation’s largest volunteer-run tax-preparation service.

Tax-Aide is looking to expand its team of volunteers locally and nationwide for the upcoming tax filing season. Training is available.

The Tax-Aide Program offers free, in-person tax preparation service to low-income and moderate-income individuals.

There are a variety of volunteer roles, but tax preparers are especially needed. Computers are provided. Training will be held 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in January. Mileage is reimbursed.

Volunteers who can provide technical and management assistance, as well as help promote the tax preparation sites, are also welcome.
