Walnutport to accept letters of intent to fill open council seat
Candidates have until the end of the month to apply for a vacant seat on Walnutport Borough Council.
The borough will accept letters of intent from registered electors who have resided in the borough for one year as of 3 p.m. Jan. 30.
Those interested must also provide a notarized affidavit of residency for which blank copies can be picked up at the borough office.
The seat became open after longtime Councilwoman Joan Rehrig passed away Jan. 2.
Up until her passing, Rehrig was a sitting member on council.
Rehrig, 77, served on council for about 30 years.
Council next meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 30.
