Carbon County Sheriff Charles D. Neast today reported a big increase in prison man days for the Carbon County Prison during 1959, fixing the figure at 7,144.

This represents 3,181 more prison man days than for the preceding year. There are presently 23 men lodged there.

There were 156 men and six women admitted last year for a total of 162, representing five more than for 1958, when 151 men and six women were lodged there.

He breakdown by other years includes: 1957 – 164 men, 11 women, 4,284 man days; 1956 – 184 men, 8 women, 4,366 man days; and 1955 – 144 men, 6 women, 5,647 man days.
