Trucker cited after I-80 crash

Rickie D. Hauf, 62, of Norfolk, Nebraska, was cited after a tractor-trailer crash at 7:50 a.m. Jan. 18 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. He was uninjured.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said he was eastbound and was unable to maintain his lane of travel. The rig struck the guide rail on the left shoulder and continued eastbound on the left shoulder of the road for about 125 feet before coming to rest.

The tractor-trailer sustained disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.
