Harold M. Hamm of Lehighton R.3 last night was elected president of the Carbon County Conservation District during the annual reorganizational meeting held in the commissioners’ office in the courthouse in Jim Thorpe.
Homer Edwards, executive director, served as temporary chairman for the election process.
Other officers named were Paul Balliet, Lehighton, vice president, and Melvin Fairchild, Jim Thorpe, secretary-treasurer.
Hamm succeeds John Wargo, Bear Creek Lakes, Star Route, Jim Thorpe, who had headed the committee for the last four years but was replaced by James R. Bowser of Lehighton R.5 by the county commissioners.
