January 27, 1987 — Tom Kresge explodes for 44 points to lead Lehighton to a 109-54 rout of Pleasant Valley. Kresge, who sets a record for most points in a Centennial League game, tallies 16 points in the opening quarter as the Indians race to a 34-10 lead. The senior heads to the bench late in the third quarter with 40 points, but head coach Jim Smith inserts him back into the contest in the fourth frame to set the CL mark, which had been 41 held by the Bears’ John Konawalik. Matt Schaeffer and Ken Ohl both finish with 12 points for the winners.
