State police at Frackville report on incidents
State police at Frackville reported on the following arrests made by troopers:
• At 2:46 p.m. Jan. 28 troopers conducted a stop of a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier along West Mount Laffee Road at Valley Road in Cass Township, for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Kenneth Yoder, 41, of New Philadelphia. A probable cause search was conducted and a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was discovered.
Troopers said as a result Yoder has been charged with drug possession and related counts.
• Troopers responded to Second Boulevard in East Union Township at 1:47 a.m. Thursday for a disturbance. Troopers said Bradley Dye, 26, and Jason Wetzel, 45, both of Ringtown, were involved in a verbal argument over borrowing a vehicle that turned physical when the parties started pushing and grabbed each other.
As a result both were charged with harassment - physical contact.
• Troopers responded to a West Brush Street in Nuremberg for a reported physical domestic incident at 8:53 p.m. Jan. 25. Troopers were told by two men that Jeremy Schlauch, 42, of that address, started fighting with them and struck both of them multiple times.
Troopers spoke with Schlauch and then took him into custody. He was charged with simple assault and related counts. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail. He has since been released on bail.
• Troopers responded to a disturbance along Nicholas Street in Middleport at 2:43 p.m. Monday. On scene the victim, a 52-year-old man from Phoenixville, Chester County, reported he was struck in the face twice and received terroristic threats from Dorothy Foti, 54, of Middleport.
Foti was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
She was arraigned on charges of simple assault and related counts and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $15,000 bail. She remains an inmate at the prison.
• Troopers said Renee Saylor, 54, of New Boston, was cited for scattering rubbish. Troopers said a patrol unit found several garbage bags along Grier Avenue at Interstate 81 in Delano Township on Jan. 24 about 2 p.m. Through an investigation it was determined that Saylor had placed the bags at the location. Charges were filed.
• On Jan. 24 troopers stopped a 2014 Chevrolet sedan along Route 61 near Darkwater Road, in New Castle Township, for a traffic violation. The driver as identified as Kevin Evitts, 50, no address given. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending test results, troopers said.
• A traffic stop of a Chevrolet truck was made at 10:26 a.m. Saturday along East Laurel Street at South Mahanoy Street in Frackville for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Jonathan Emerich, 28, of Frackville. It was determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested for DUI.
• Troopers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 1:15 a.m. Jan. 23 along Foose Lane in East Union Township. A 33-year-old man from Shenandoah was walking away from the scene. He admitted driving the vehicle and showed signs of impairment. He was also found in possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pottsville Campus, for a blood draw. Police did not release his name. A DUI charge is pending the test results.
