Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met Jan. 28 at Christ Church, in Barnesville, with 44 members in attendance. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the reading “Happiness.”

Betty Bablo, Nancy Schugart, Kim Usalis and Grace Sakusky were added to the sick list. There was a moment of silence for Neal Flexer, and a warm welcome was offered to guest Steve Olmam. Valentine favors and raffle basket were donated by Doris Brobst and refreshments by Gloria Gerhard.

Upcoming events include: Feb. 17, Mohegan Sun Casino; March, Hollywood Casino; May 12, anniversary dinner at Capriotti’s, McAdoo. Election of officers will be held in May and yearly dues are now being collected.

The group meets at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Christ Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 or older is invited to attend the meetings. The next meeting will be held Feb. 11.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Jan. 30 at the Tamaqua YMCA with 48 members in attendance. President Melody Weicker opened the meeting with the reading, “The Door To My Heart Is Open.”

Grace Sakusky was added to the sick list, and Lillian Tomshot and Nancy Hess were welcomed back. A guest speaker from Achieva Rehabilitation spoke on a better way to provide physical therapy.

The group is open to anyone 55 or older, meeting at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the YMCA. The next meeting will be held on Feb. 6.

Calvary Lewistown

The Rev. Ralph Saunders will officiate at he 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.

There will be a Sunday evening service of praise and Bible study beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Prayer meeting will be held on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. Call 570-668-9111 to place prayer requests or praise before 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Primitive Methodist

Pastor Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in America Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:30 a.m.

Every Thursday from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Hope In The Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Trustee board meeting will be held Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
