Rails to trails walk planned

Most months, Lehigh Township Rails to Trails will be leading walks around towns and on paths in the northern Lehigh Valley area.

In mid-January, members led a walk around Palmerton with several guests. The weather was great and everyone enjoyed seeing parts of the town away from the main street.

The next walk will take place in Slatington at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The group will meet at the trailhead in Slatington, under the covered pavilion.

This is a chance to get some fresh air, stretch your legs, meet new people and see parts of the town of which you might not be aware. The walk should last about 1½ hours. The walk will be canceled in case of bad weather.
