A dangerous cultural revolution
Editor,
Wiping away “crocodile tears” while speaking about children killed in mass shootings, President Obama announced an executive order for more gun control.
What most Americans don’t know is at the time of his press conference, the president was petitioning the Supreme Court to reject a new law that would further restrict abortions in Texas; no press conference and tears for these “millions” of innocent murdered victims, right, Mr. President?
Unfortunately the cultural revolution has contributed greatly to the loss of the light of reason in many, especially those in the leadership of the country.
We are immersed in a war that is destroying the most sacred foundations of our civilization and increasingly plunging the world into chaos and violence.
Its effects have turned men away from God and introduced a way of thinking that creates a mentality of men who want to be like God; proving this revolution has its inspiration from the father of all lies, Satan.
The Most Rev. Thomas J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix, pointed out the dangers of this cultural revolution in a recent letter to his diocese, stating, “Men, do not hesitate to engage in the battle that is raging around you, the battle that is wounding our children and families, the battle that is distorting the dignity of both women and men. This battle is often hidden, but the battle is real. It is primarily spiritual, but it is progressively killing the remaining Christian ethos in our society and culture, and even in our own homes.”
This revolution has been able to attack and diminish the concept of true fatherhood and motherhood. New statistics state that 41 percent of children are born into unmarried homes — an increase of 700 percent from 1950.
The cultural revolution has promoted same-sex marriage and the so-called “gender theories” which destroy the complementary differences between men and women. The emasculation of man is accompanied by a masculinization of women. This ideology seeks to set aside the sexual difference created by God, to remove male and female as the normal way of understanding the human person, and in its place, to add various other “categories” of sexuality.
Worse, this cultural revolution has implemented the horror of abortion, pornography and sexual abuse so rampant in today’s society. Instead of real and authentic love, this false “liberty” offers cheap pleasures that destroy lives and spirituality at an unimaginable pace, causing loneliness, despair, drug use and suicide in our youth.
The remedy for all these evils is for Americans to return to the Father like the prodigal son in the gospels. This would rejuvenate society and stimulate a true moral leadership; otherwise we will continue to be a nation governed by men who are filled with pride, preferring their own judgment before others; usurping what is not their own, ignoring the existence of God their rightful judge and superior.
