Injuries were averted in a three-vehicle crash that happened at 8:22 a.m. Wednesdayat the intersection of Summer Valley Road and Centre Turnpike in West Brunswick Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said the crash happened when a 2015 Ford F450 operated by Scott W. Ebelhar, 47, of Reading, was traveling north on Route 61 and approaching the ramp to Route 895 when it hit a large patch of ice on the ramp and began to slide onto Route 895.

Police said the vehicle slid across the eastbound lane and into the westbound lane, where it struck a 2003 Toyota Sequoia driven by Karen G. Parkinson, 55, of Orwigsburg, with its driver's side front bumper. Police said the Sequoia was hit at its driver's side front bumper and was pushed backward into a 2006 Toyota Corolla operated by a New Ringgold man. The two Toyota vehicles were stopped at the red light on Route 895 westbound at the time.

Police said the Sequoia sustained heavy front-end damages and had to be towed from the scene. The other two vehicles were driven from the scene.
