Tamaqua man faces bad check charge

Shawn Edward Martin, 26, of 66 Bowe St., Tamaqua, has been charged with issuing a bad check.

Martin wrote out a check for $655 on Nov. 26 to pay for his rent. The check was written on an account at Santander Bank and was dated Dec. 4, 2015.

The landlord waited until Dec. 4 to deposit the check into his account and was notified on Dec. 10, that Martin's account at Santander had been closed.

On Dec. 13, a representative for the landlord visited Martin, telling him about the bounced check. Martin agreed to clear up the matter, but has failed to do so.

Charges were filed on Jan. 6.
