Man faces charges in assault at bar

A Tamaqua area man faces charges in connection with an assault at Hiller's Hideaway, 514 E. Union St. on Feb. 18.

Ronald W. Pratt, 43, of 81 Medical Crossing confronted a patron who was leaving the bar sometime after 11:30 p.m. As the victim approached the door to leave, Pratt struck him in the face. The victim required medical treatment at St. Luke's Hospital - Miners Campus in Coaldale for multiple facial fractures.

A witness told police that Pratt, who is his friend, took exception to the victim flirting with the witness's girlfriend.

Pratt will be charged with simple assault and harassment.
