Man, woman in Tamaqua cited after dispute
Two people were cited after a domestic dispute in Tamaqua on Feb. 21.
Tamaqua police were dispatched to 320 N. Elizabeth St. at 12:29 a.m. for a fight in progress. The caller said people in the upstairs apartment were yelling at each others and banging things around.
On scene officers spoke with Benjamin Michael Wnorowski, 24, and Renee Gibbins, 34. Neither party initially wished to explain why he had a swollen, bloody lip and blood on the back of his hands while she had visible bumps and bruises on her face. Wnorowski did finally admit that he had held her down and smacked her in the face.
Both were transported back to the police station before being arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier, of Orwigsburg. While in a jail cell Wnorowski told Gibbins he "wasn't going to take any of your crap and would put you in your place."
He was charged with unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $10,000 percentage, which he was unable to post. He was transported to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
She was charged with simple assault and harassment with bail set at $10,000 unsecured. She was taken back to her home.
