New York man facing drug counts in Monroe

A New York state resident is facing drug charges in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Feb. 1 at 4:25 a.m. officers responded to the Chelsea Circle, in Coolbaugh Township, for a domestic incident.

Officers were advised one of the parties involved left in a red Honda.

The vehicle was spotted parked near the scene but in front of a residence unrelated to the incident.

The occupant was identified as Jermel McAllister, 38, of Brooklyn.

McAllister was found to have in his possession a small plastic baggie of marijuana.

He was taken into custody and transported to the county booking center.

He was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was later released.
