Landlord dispute leads to charges

Tamaqua police have cited Stephanie Yanuzzi, 29, of 324 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, in connection with a landlord-tenant dispute on March 12.

Yanuzzi called the station to report being assaulted by her landlord, who is also her mother-in-law. Yanuzzi said the woman came to her apartment without 24 hours notice and assaulted her.

The landlord said she was assaulted by Yanuzzi. The women's husbands' each corroborated their respective spouse's side of the story.

However, when given the chance to file a formal complaint, Yanuzzi and her husband failed to respond. The landlord and her husband did fill out statement forms, leading police to file charges of harassment against Yanuzzi.
