Quakake woman jailed in assault
A Quakake woman spent some time in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville after an incident on March 21.
Rita Melusky, 45, was charged by Rush Township police with simple assault and harassment after the 3:15 p.m. incident at 14 Jones St. in Quakake. She was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and sent to the prison when she was unable to post bail.
On March 23, her bail was modified to $10,000 unsecured, earning her a release from jail.
