Lack of turn signal costly for driver

Published April 04. 2016 04:00PM

Failure to use a turn signal proved costly for Anthony E. Polcheck, 37, of 36 Bruno Ave., McAdoo.

A police officer on patrol in Tamaqua at 12:12 p.m. March 20 saw a blue minivan traveling east on Brown Street. When the driver, identified as Polcheck, failed to use a turn signal when turning on to Nescopec Street, the officer conducted a traffic stop.

A records check found an outstanding warrant for Polcheck issued by Luzerne County for failure to appear in court. Before transporting the McAdoo man, the officer searched him and found a small baggie with white residue in his right pocket. The residue field tested positive for cocaine.

Polcheck was lodged in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville to wait for Luzerne County authorities.

He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a traffic violation.
