Man enters home without permission, refuses to leave

Coaldale Police cited Scott F. Smith, 45, of 4 E. Ruddle St., Coaldale, after he entered a home on East Earley Avenue without permission.

Officers were dispatched to the Earley Avenue home at 6:46 p.m. March 14 for a possible breaking and entering. At the home, they spoke with the resident, who said she was in the living room, watching television, when Scott walked into the home.

As she was yelling for him to get out, Smith walked passed her and went into a bathroom located next to the kitchen. He left that bathroom and went into another, near the bedroom, and spent several minutes there. That's when the victim called police.

Officers found Smith sitting in a recliner in the living room, watching television.

He was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespass and defiant trespass.
