Driver in Monroe County crash facing DUI charge
One of three drivers involved in a crash at 6:46 p.m. March 3 in Monroe County is facing a charge of driving under the influence. State police at Fern Ridge said the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 115 and Astolat Road, in Chestnuthill Township.
Troopers said Rosemary J. Delarosa, 51, of Albrightsville, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on 115 while Rebecca H. Borsuk, 39, of Effort, was stopped at a stop sign on Astolat Road. Borsuk proceeded to make a right turn onto 115 when her 2007 GMC Yukon was struck by Delarosa's Jeep. Upon impact the Jeep rolled over onto its roof along the northbound shoulder of 115. Melanie L. Padilla, 25, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2007 Nissan Versa, was northbound at the time and her vehicle was also struck by the Jeep before it overturned.
Borsuk was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel for a minor injury. Delarosa and Padilla were not injured.
Troopers said Delarosa was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the county DUI center for a blood test.
