Shenandoah fire caused by short
An investigation into the cause of a fire that gutted a dwelling in Schuylkill County Wednesday evening has determined it was caused by an electrical short.
State Police at Frackville said the fire that broke out at 6:55 p.m. at the dwelling owned by Mark and Katherine Zucker at 508-510 W. Mount Vernon St., Shenandoah.
The investigation revealed the fire originated in the basement of the dwelling, and was caused by an electrical short.
No injuries were reported.
Shenandoah fire officials assisted with the investigation.
