Pictsweet recall

Following a recall by The Pictsweet Company, Giant Food announced it removed Pictsweet Steamables Seasoned Summer Vegetables (10 ounce, UPC 7056098001 with a best by date of 03/28/2018) due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, it can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.

Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and people with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.

Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
