Schuylkill woman cited for theft

A Schuylkill County woman has been charged with the theft of an iPhone.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at the Caliendo Medical office, located at 15 Alliance St., New Philadelphia, on Wednesday, between 1:30 and 2 p.m.

Troopers said Hope Caliendo, 46, of Orwigsburg, left her iPhone in a restroom at the office. Bridget Stanakis, 54, of Mahanoy City, found the phone and attempted to steal it by turning it off and placing it in her pocket. Troopers said Stanakis initially denied knowing where the phone was, but finally gave it back.
