Man faces drug charges in McAdoo
A West Hazleton man faces drug related charges after a vehicle stop in McAdoo on April 5.
An officer on patrol shortly before 9 p.m. noticed a red car with heavily tinted windows as it turned from Lincoln Street onto Grant Street.
After the red car turned onto several back streets only to return to Lincoln Street, the officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Charles Davis, 22, of West Hazleton.
With the car window open, a strong odor of marijuana came from Davis' car.
When asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle, Davis said no.
Due to the strong odor, the officer conducted a search of the vehicle and found a gallon-size plastic bag underneath the driver's seat. Inside that bag were three smaller bags filled with a green vegetable matter, which field tested positive for marijuana.
Davis faces charges of possession of marijuana.
