McAdoo man charged after drug overdose

McAdoo police filed charges against Robert Pupko, 23, of 337 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, after an apparent drug overdose on April 11.

Officers and EMS were dispatched to Pupko's home and spoke with his mother, who said she found her son in the bathroom, turning blue, unconscious and unresponsive. She placed him in the bathtub and began covering him with cold water until he woke up.

The son was awake and responsive when officers and EMS arrived, but was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by ambulance as a precaution.

Police were given several packets, labeled "Red Skull," which field tested positive for heroin.

Pupko was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
