Mayfair Festival set for Memorial Day Weekend

Mayfair Festival of the Arts returns Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, to the Allentown Fairgrounds, 1950 Liberty St., Allentown.

The Artists Market, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m. May 27, noon to 8 p.m. May 28 and 29, and from noon to 6 p.m. May 30, features fine art, photography, fashion, paintings, sculpture, drawings, fabric arts, metal arts, woodsmithing, ceramics, artisanal food including honey and wine, and natural healthcare items.

Mayfair continues its format of music festivals within the overall festival. Three stages offer Americana, blues, bluegrass, folk, classic rock, jazz, country and celtic music.

There is also a "Kids Stage" with music for children, including interactive sing-alongs, dancing and playing of instruments. A "Middle Earth," interactive theater where children can be part of the show, and a 180-foot wall area where children can participate in the creation of a mural.

A wide variety of food will also be available.

Mayfair hours are: 4 to 9:30 p.m. May 27; noon to 9:30 p.m. May 28 and May 29; and noon to 6 p.m. May 30.
