Lehighton driver facing DUI charge
A Lehighton driver is facing several charges filed by Mahoning Township police.
Police said Michael Gerber, 31, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, and one each of driving while suspended, operation following suspension of registration, registration and certification of title, driving on right side of roadway, and careless driving.
The DUI count is a misdemeanor and the rest are summaries.
Gerber was stopped on March 23 at 3:52 p.m. after a 911 caller reporting he was driving carelessly.
A blood test showed the presence of amphetamine, methamphetamine, alprazolam, and oxycodone-free, police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 12.
