Man falls asleep while driving

Donald C. Klingerman, 78, of Nuremberg, was not injured after a car he was driving crashed when he fell asleep at 9:15 p.m. Friday on Mahanoy Street in North Union Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he was driving southbound when his 2009 Chevrolet Malibu veered to the right and struck a parked 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Klingerman will be cited for careless driving.
