Summit Hill police log

Summit Hill police recently released charges against the following:

Ann Marie Derby, 51, of 9 W. Holland St., Summit Hill, was arrested on April 2, after police were dispatched to the residence for a neighbor dispute. Upon arrival, the officer observed Derby and her neighbor, who was not identified, yelling at each other. He then asked to speak with Derby in her residence. While inside, Derby allegedly made threats and fought with the officer.

She was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and persistent disorderly conduct.

Kim Graver, 52, of 11 W. Holland St., Summit Hill, was cited after police received a call at 4:55 a.m. on April 10 by her neighbor that there was an unreasonable amount of noise coming from next door. Upon arrival, police found a radio playing. Graver was cited for disorderly conduct.

Kevin Gieniec, 30, of 135 E. Walter St., Summit Hill, was charged for two separate incidents. The first happened at 1:30 p.m. on April 2, when police were notified that Gieniec was harassing a neighbor. He was cited for harassment. On April 13, police were again called to the Gieniec residence after they were told he was causing a disturbance and again harassing a neighbor by making various statements and offensive remarks and gestures. He was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.

Jeremy Burns, 26, of 113 Sharadin Road, Kutztown, was charged with simple trespass at 9:10 a.m. May 7 after police were dispatched to the Lansford Townhouses for a person not allowed to be on the property. Burns was found hiding upstairs behind a futon. Lansford police assisted at the scene.

Matthew Hiles, 31, of 219 E. White St., Summit Hill, was charged at 2:29 a.m. on April 5 after police observed the vehicle he was operating commit a minor traffic offense. Police conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with Hiles, found that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with a minor traffic offense and two counts DUI.

Jason Evans, 40, of 312 W. Patterson St., Lansford, was charged with driving under the influence on Feb. 21 after police were dispatched to Route 902 for a vehicle over the guardrail. When police arrived on scene the vehicle was found as reported, but the occupant was not with the vehicle at that time. Police were able to make contact with the driver and found he was under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with not immediately notifying police of an accident, careless driving and two counts of DUI.

Alan Kokinda, 42, of 117 E. Amidon St., Summit Hill, 42, was charged on March 21 after police were dispatched to a crash on Route 902, the White Bear hill. Kokinda was on scene and further investigation revealed he was intoxicated. He was charged with careless driving and two counts DUI.

Penny Shelton, 48, of 23 Stoney Lonesome Road, Summit Hill, was charged after police were dispatched to the 300 block of East Fell Street on June 10 for a reported fight in the street involving two females. Shelton was on the scene intoxicated and ended up causing a disturbance. She was arrested and was charged with resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, two counts harassment and public drunkenness. Lansford police assisted.

Samantha Gulla, 30, of 352 E. Fell St., Summit Hill, was cited on May 25, after police dispatched to a fight on West Lehigh Street. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Gulla was involved in the fight and she had gone after another female. She was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.

Michael Halvorsen, 36, of 34 E. Ridge St. Summit Hill was charged just after midnight on June 8 after police were dispatched to assist an ambulance going to an establishment on Lehigh Street for a person who fell. Upon arrival, officials found Halvorsen to be highly intoxicated, and when medics attempted to assist him, he threatened to punch one of them. He was charged with public drunkenness and harassment.

Two cited: On June 14 at 3:20 a.m., police received a report of fireworks going off in the unit block of East Summit Avenue. During the investigation two male juveniles were found in the area intoxicated.

Both the 17-year-old from Nesquehoning and the 16-year-old from Summit Hill were cited for underage drinking.
