Published July 13. 2015 12:30PM

A Tobyhanna man has been charged with aggaravted assault of a police officer.

Sayiff S. Caraway, 34, was charged July 8 by the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department after police say he kicked an officer in the knee.

According to police, they were called to 145 Dorchester Road, Coolbaugh Township, on a report of a domestic dispute at 11:30 p.m. The complainant told them Caraway, her boyfriend, was acting crazy and slashing her tires with a knife.

She said he also stole her cellphone to keep her from calling police, but she ran to a neighbor's house to call them.

She told police Caraway had left her house on foot and may still have more than one knife with him.

Officers confronted Caraway on Renaissance Lane, and he refused verbal commands.

Officers used necessary force to take him into custody. Once handcuffed, Caraway kicked an officer in the knee.
