Man reportedly hits neighbor with car

Pocono Regional Police Department has charged a Tobyhanna man with aggravated assault and related charges after he is said to have deliberately hit a neighbor with hiscar.

Lyon F. Sierra, 46, of 1719 Rolling Hills Drive, has been in an ongoing dispute with the neighbor. Police say that at 12:33 p.m. July 8, Sierra was leaving his house and the neighbor's girlfriend made an obscene gesture. The neighbor approached Sierra's car and was struck by the side view mirror as Sierra sped away. Sierra turned around, and the neighbor, Robert Helferty, allegedly stoodin the middle of the road saying "Go for it. Hit me."

Sierra did, according to police.

Sierra left, and Helferty was flown to Community Medical Center, Scranton, where he was listed incritical condition.

Sierra was taken into custody at his house.
