Man found dead in water
A 75-year-old man was found dead in the water of the Pocono Summit Lakes development in Coolbaugh Township on Monday morning.
Pocono Mountain Regional police were called to the scene just before 8:30 a.m. for a capsized kayak.
Family members said the man went kayaking around 7:45 a.m. and that they called for help after realizing the kayak had capsized.
The Scott Township Dive Rescue Specialist team assisted with recovery efforts.
Police are working with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission in investigating the death.
An autopsy has been scheduled by the Monroe County Coroner's Office.
The Tobyhanna and Coolbaugh Township fire departments assisted at the scene.
