Man cited for possession of drugs
A New Ringgold man was cited by Tamaqua police on July 19.
Officers were called to the Lafayette and Washington Street area for a male who was on the ground at the rear of Trinity Church.
The caller noted there was a hypodermic needle sticking in the fallen man's arm.
On scene officers found Nethanial Shea, 33, of 349 Blue Mountain Drive, leaning against one of the church walls. Shea said he was just resting due to the heat.
When asked about the needle, he denied having one. When the officer pointed out a syringe cap and cotton swab on the ground Shea admitted using drugs, saying the needle was in his pocket.
Also in his pockets were a silver metal case containing eight glassine bags filled with suspected heroin and 12 empty baggies. One of Shea's bags had a silver spoon with a bent handle and two syringes with the needles missing.
He was cited for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
