A Lehighton man has been charged with retail theft following an incident that occurred last month.

Mahoning Township Policy say that at 3:50 p.m. July 17, police responded to Walmart for a retail theft.

Dwight Sexton, 45, was stopped by Loss Prevention after they observed him leaving the store with merchandise he did not purchase.

Sexton had concealed merchandise inside a Walmart bag while inside the store. The items valued at $355.73 included a trail camera, clothing, makeup, perfume, and toy cars.

As a result, Sexton has been charged with retail theft, a misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
