Complainant ends up in Schuylkill jail
A Tamaqua woman, who called police to remove an unwanted person, ended up going to jail on July 29.
Faith Hallam called police from 225 Pine St., at 8:22 a.m. to have William Manness evicted from the premises as she didn't want him there. Manness told the officer he had paid $150 rent to John Hindermeyer, a fact confirmed by Hindermeyer.
Since the rent money had been accepted, the residents were told they would have to start formal, legal eviction procedures.
Unfortunately for Hallam, the officer who responded to her call was aware of a warrant for her arrest.
She was arrested and placed in a jail cell until a Schuylkill County detective took her to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.
