Effort driver unhurt in crash
No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:06 p.m. Aug. 30 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, according to state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.
Police said Anthony J. Pontrelli, 21, of Effort, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer northbound when he overcompensated on a left curve, causing the vehicle to travel into the southbound lane and onto the shoulder of the road. As a result, police said, the right front tire blew out, causing the Explorer to spin. Its left front end impacted a guide rail, causing disabling damages to the right front of the vehicle and passenger's side area, as well as two flat front tires, requiring the vehicle to be towed from the scene.
Police said Pontrelli will be cited for the incident.
