Man charged in theft from Walmart

At 5:03 p.m. July 24, a retail theft occurred at Walmart in Mahoning Township.

Loss prevention reported a man had stolen merchandise and he ran off when they attempted to stop him.

Using store security video, police located the vehicle driven by the man. During the investigation, drug paraphernalia was seized from the vehicle.

Using Facebook, and assistance from Lehigh Township Police, Garett Castro, 43, of Danielsville, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and retail theft.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 23.
