Woman jailed for stealing vehicle

Published September 08. 2015 04:00PM

A Schuylkill County woman was jailed late last week for stealing a vehicle. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred on Sept. 3 between 8:30 and 11:45 a.m. at 2064 Market St., in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said the owner had an unregistered vehicle parked at a rental property that he owns at the above-stated location.

Judith J. Creitz, of Orwigsburg, took the vehicle, which was unlocked with the keys inside, without permission. She was located about 2:28 p.m. in Auburn.

She was placed under arrest and charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

She was arraigned before on-call District Judge David J. Rossi, of Tremont, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $5,000 straight cash bail.
