Drug Take Back Day a success
On Sept. 15, the Drug Enforcement Administration, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, conducted the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police said the purpose of this National Take Back Day was to provide a venue for persons who wanted to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
The Pocono Mountain Regional Police participated in this effort, and were provided with overwhelming positive feedback from the public.
About 31 pounds of prescription pills and other medications were collected at the site and turned over to the DEA for destruction.
