Schuylkill driver in Lehigh crash

A Schuylkill County driver and his passenger escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:08 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Hilltop and Haasadahl roads, in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

Township police said John McMurtie, 80, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Hilltop Road and failed to yield for a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Linda Folck, 64, of Kempton, Berks County, who was northbound on Haasadahl Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection. Folck, McMurtie and his wife, Nancy, 80, were all not injured.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Police said McMurtie was cited for the crash.
