Graduates from basic training
Army PV2 Colan D. Ahner has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
During the nine weeks of training, Ahner studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Ahner is currently participating in Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood to be trained as a horizontal construction engineer. He is the son of Brad and Kris Ahner of Lehighton and the brother of Holly Ahner. He is a 2015 graduate of Palmerton Area High School.
