Gun is reported missing from home

Published September 29. 2015 04:00PM

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a missing gun report.

Police said a 32-year-old woman, living on Kroucher Road in Jackson Township, reported her Taurus .45-caliber pistol missing from her bedroom.

The woman told police she is unsure if her brother currently has the weapon, because he periodically cleans her guns, or if the brother, Thomas J. Nealon, 31, of Philadelphia, stole the gun following a domestic violence incident on Sept. 2.

Police released a second report regarding the latter altercation, saying Nealon was charged with simple assault of his sister after an incident at 8:27 p.m. Sept. 2.

Police said the victim and Nealon began arguing verbally due to Nealon believing his sister was not maintaining the residence properly.

Police said when the victim took a cellphone away from Nealon, the argument became physical.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact PSP Fern Ridge at 570-646-2271.
