Quakake couple married 40 years

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smudin of Quakake recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married on Oct. 4, 1975, by the Rev. Ernest Houston at Christ Lutheran Church in Barnesville.

Mrs. Smudin is the former Shirley Neifert, daughter of the late Grace (Hinkle) Neifert and the late Elden Neifert of Quakake.

Mr. Smudin is the son of the late Gladys (Lewis) Smudin and the late Algerd Smudin of Tamaqua.

They have three daughters: Jamie, wife of Kory Beidleman of Clamtown; Leslie, wife of Ryan Keefer of Cressona; and Tracy, wife of Damien Earhart of Quakake.

They have five grandchildren: a granddaughter, Shelby Lee Beidleman; and four grandsons, Dalton Kory Beidleman, Owen Jon Keefer, Quinn Jon Keefer and Damien John Earhart.
