Trucker charged in fatal crash

A New Jersey truck driver has been charged in a fatal crash that occurred in Lehigh County in May.

Upper Macungie Township police said Juan B. Rodriguez, 44, of Union City, has been charged with stop signs/yield signs, careless driving resulting in death, turning movements and required signals and false reports.

The crash occurred about 12:41 p.m. on May 15 at the intersection of Schantz Road in Industrial Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene of a crash in which a 2000 Chevrolet Impala was underneath a 2015 Freightliner tractor with 2001 Great Dane trailer. The driver of the Impala was identified as Ned P. Moyer, 69, of Upper Macungie Township.

He was extricated from his vehicle and transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he later died. Rodriguez was not injured in the crash.
