Engler for district attorney

Dear Editor and Times News readers,

I am writing in support of the candidacy of Jean A. Engler for Carbon County district attorney.

I have known District Attorney Engler for over 20 years and first met her when I was a criminal investigator for the Pennsylvania State Police. I later had the pleasure of working closely with her in the DA's office in my capacity as Carbon County detective and Carbon County victim/witness coordinator.

In all of my dealings with her, District Attorney Engler was hard-working and displayed determination and professionalism. Attorney Engler works well with her co-workers, others in the county and court system and with the police who first file the cases brought to the DA's office. She is tough but still displays concern for victims and witnesses of crime.

District Attorney Engler has a true prosecutor's spirit and searches for justice in every case. For these reasons, I am not surprised she has received the endorsements of both the state and local FOP Lodges, and the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association. Jean A. Engler is the only candidate who has the experience and temperament for the important job of Carbon County District Attorney.
