Police: man took 24 cans of crab meat

State police at Fern Ridge are looking for a man who stole over $600 worth of crab meat from a Monroe County store.

Troopers said at 10:58 a.m. Sunday, a white man entered Weis Markets at 924 Weir Lake Road, Chestnuthill Township, and filled a hand basket with 24 cans of lump crab meat. He then fled the store without paying for the items. The items were valued at $671.

The suspect is described as being 5 feet, 9 to 11 inches tall, medium build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, gray cap, dark sunglasses, blue jeans with dark colored sneakers/shoes. He is believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He was seen operating a green/aqua Chevrolet Cavalier, model year of between 1995-2002. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
