Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop in Carbon County has led to drug charges.
State police at Swiftwater stopped Tyrone Ronnie Baxter Jr., 23, of Bellefonte, Centre County, about 2:40 p.m. on Nov. 8 westbound along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Troopers said Baxter was operating a vehicle without a certificate of inspection.
Upon investigation troopers noted several indicators of criminal activity. A consent search of the vehicle was originally denied, but while waiting for the arrival of a K9 unit, Baxter granted a search.
Found in the vehicle was 10.8 grams of marijuana. Drug charges were filed against Baxter.
